I totally fail at working out at home. I don’t have a lot of space (sure, I can make some, but my coffee table is HEAVY!), my dog normally gets in the way, and I live in an apartment (sorry, neighbors). I prefer to go to the gym to get my workouts in, but some people totally rock the at-home workout thing. Maybe you don’t have access to a gym, the money for a membership, a car, whatever. Good news? You can get a killer workout at home too.
There are programs you can buy, of course, or you can scour the internet (hellooooo, Pinterest) for free workouts. Heck, these days, you can stream straight from your phone/TV/iDevice.
But what about equipment? Yeah, you’ll probably need some. Here’s what I suggest:
- Dumbbells (a pair of light, medium, and heavy)
- Yoga mat
- Resistance bands (light, medium, and heavy)
Honestly, that’s all I have and it’s plenty for me. You can get an amazing workout just using your bodyweight and a few inexpensive pieces of equipment like those listed above.
